Update E-way bill for Multi-vehicle movement

Steps to update an E-way bill details and change it for multi-vehicle movement

Step 1: Login and go to View and Manage E-way bill

Login to ClearTax E-invoicing and E-way bill product via einv.cleartax.in or https://accounts.cleartax.in/. Click on ‘View and Manage EWB’ and select the GSTIN / branch

Step 2: Select an E-way bill for Multi-vehicle movement update

Select an E-way bill which has to be updated for multi-vehicle movement. Only E-way bills which are active and in ‘Generated’ status can be updated for multi-vehicle movement

Step 3: Click ‘More Options’ and select ‘Change EWB to Multi-vehicle’ option from dropdown

Click on ‘More Options’ button to open the dropdown and click on ‘Change EWB to Multi Vehicle’

Step 4: Update Group Details in Step 1 of Multi-vehicle

If multi-vehicle movement is being initiated then let the group be ‘New’ otherwise a group number can be selected from the existing groups. Even a new group can be added from the same selection. New group numbers are returned by the government

Step 5: Update Transportation Details

Update transportation details like From Place / State, To Place / State, Total Quantity, Units, Reason and Remarks. Total quantity selected is applicable for the group and should be equal to or less than the quantity of EWB. The quantity selected for the first group would be applicable to all the subsequent groups. Unless all details in Step 1 are completed you can cannot move to Step 2. After all details are filled click on ‘Proceed to Step 2’

Step 6: Update Vehicle details

Update vehicle details i.e vehicle number, document number, document date and quantity by clicking on ‘Add More Vehicle’ button. Add the number of vehicles to be used to transport in a certain group. Sum of all the quantities of all vehicles added should be equal to the quantity mentioned for the group.

Vehicle details can be added when transportation mode equal is 'Road'

Transportation details can be modified by clicking on ‘Back’ button.

Step 7: Update E-way bill for Multi-vehicle Movement

After verifying all the details click on ‘Update to Multi Vehicle EWB’ to update the E-way bill for multi-vehicle movement.

Click on 'Update to Multi-Vehicle EWB' to generate multi-vehicle EWB

Congratulations!! The E-way bill has been successfully updated for Multi-vehicle movement.
