# Extend Validity of an E-way bill

### Step 1: Login and go to View and Manage E-way bill

Login to ClearTax E-invoicing and &#x45;**-**&#x77;ay bill product via einv.cleartax.in or <https://accounts.cleartax.in/>. Click on ‘View and Manage EWB’ and select the GSTIN / branch

### **Step 2: Select E-way bills for Validity Extension**

Select the E-way bills whose validity has to be extended.

Note that validity can be extended only for E-way bills in ‘Generated’ status and only in the time period 8 hours before expiry or 8 hours after expiry of the E-way bil&#x6C;**.**

### **Step 3: Click ‘More Options’ and select ‘Extend Validity’ option from the dropdown**

Click on ‘More Options’ button to open the dropdown and click on ‘Extend Validity’

### **Step 4: Enter details to Extend Validity**

Enter all the necessary details to extend validity like Reason, **R**emaining distance and current place details.

### **Step 5: Enter transportation details and Extend Validity**

Fill in details related to transportation in the Extend Validity page and click on ‘Extend Validity’ to request extension of validity for the selected E-way bill.

Note: Transportation details to be entered depends on the selection of ‘Consignment is’ field. If it is in transit then address details become mandatory as per government validations.&#x20;

After all the required details are entered click on ‘Save and Extend Validity’ button to extend the validity of the selected E-way bill.

**Congratulations!!! The validity of the selected E-way bill will be extended based on the remaining distance entered.**
